Online Safety

Online Safety

Online safety, is the protection of your child online, whether gaming or using social media. With our vast world and its technology rapidly changing and developing, it is vital that we ensure children are navigating the online world safely.

Online safety is a fundamental part of keeping our children safe here at St Laurence Church Junior School. We have security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally to help safeguard pupils. All concerns are recorded and parents/carers are notified of any incidents involving their child. Online safety is taught to all pupils, explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online. We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we all work together to ensure the message is consistent, therefore we encourage parents to speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online. Here are some questions to help guide a conversation about online safety with your child.

Reporting

We take the issue of online safety seriously. We encourage parents/carers to report to the school any type of cyberbullying or other online concerns which affect their child.

The CEOP website listed below allows you to report online abuse or the way someone is communicating online to the National Crime Agency.
