Year 4 at the Safari Park
On Tuesday 1st July Year 4 visited the West Midlands Safari Park for their end of year trip.
After a drive through the safari, where we saw many animals including lions, tigers, giraffe, rhino and elephants (to name a few), we split down into smaller groups to take on the theme park area.
Children, and adults, braved the wild rides and had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Thank you to all of the parents who came with us to help out, we hope you had as much fun as we did!
Year 5's Trip to Woodgate Valley
On Thursday 5th and Friday 6th March, Year 5 visited Woodgate Valley as part of their current topic ‘Go with the flow’. They incorporated maths into the day and measured rivers too.
Some of them had to brave the rain and cold, whilst others enjoyed a glorious day of sunshine, although it was still very muddy!
Year 4 Visit Cadbury World
On Tuesday 25th November, Year 4 walked to Cadbury to learn about the history of the Cadbury Family and how chocolate is made. We of course were able to sample some of the delicious chocolate!
Year 4's Bockleton Residential
On the 25th September, Year 4 went on a residential to Bockleton Study Centre for three whole days of exciting, outdoor activities.
Alongside canoeing and orienteering, activities included the zipwire, pond dipping, environmental art, low ropes, rock climbing and shelter building.
We all had a fantastic time, pushing ourselves to conquer some of our fears. We can’t wait to go to York in Year 6.
Year 6 Visit the Houses of Parliament
On Tuesday 19th November, 25 Year 6 pupils took a trip to the Houses of Parliament in London.
They were given a guided tour and had the opportunity to take part in a question and answer session with Richard Burdon, our local MP in the Committee Room.
The children found out exactly what his job involves and how he seeks to improve Northfield and the surrounding area, including the issue of the traffic and safety outside of St Laurence Schools.
