Fri 7th Oct Boys Football Semi-Final Round St. Laurence 0-1 Northfield Manor, St. Laurence 1-0 Bournville, St. Laurence 0-0 St. John Fisher. Just enough to qualify- Well done!
Mon 10th Oct Cross Country Meeting at Cofton A huge well done to all who took part! Top 10 finishes for Jack C, Ela and Jasmine, with medals for Katie (3rd) and Alastair (2nd).
Tues 11th Oct Gymnastics Session at Colmers A good opportunity for our young gymnasts to practice and improve on their routines. Well done to the girls involved.
Thurs 13th Oct Girls yr3 and yr5 Futsal Competitions A fantastic evening! Well done to all our girls. Our Y5 team won two and lost two, finishing third. Our new Y3 teams did well and managed to win the group, qualifying to come back next year.
Fri 14th Oct Boys Football Finals St. Laurence 0-4 The Meadows; St. Laurence 1-0 St. John Fisher; St. Laurence 1-0 St. Edwards. A fantastic recovery after a poor start to take the Runners-Up Trophy. Well done boys.
Mon 17th Oct Tag Rugby Competition A record of 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss meant that we won the Runners-Up Trophy. A great performance overall.
Mon 17th Oct Netball League Game St. Laurence 5-0 St. Mary's. A great start to the season!

Mon 14th Nov Aston Villa 6-a-side Football Comp Good performances today. Just missed out on qualification on goal difference! Well done boys. Two wins 2-0 and 1-0 and two 0-0 draws.

Fri 18th Nov Trip to Worcester Wolves basketball A fantastic evening! Our dance group performed twice on court and were amazing. See 'Sporting Events' for more detail and photos.
Tues 22nd Nov Yr3/4 Gymnastics Competition Our 6 girls performed the floor routine and vaults extremely well to finish 2nd overall. Very impressive!
Tues 22nd Nov Birmingham Table Tennis Comp Our boys won the Birmingham U13 competition, beating 3 secondary school teams - 4-0 v Holte; 4-0 v Broadway; 2-2 v Wheelers Lane in the Final and we won on count-back! Congratulations boys!
Fri 2nd Dec Boys 4-a-side Indoor Football Semi-Final Round A disappointing evening for us, going out of the competition: St. Laurence 0-1 St. Kenelm's; St. Laurence 0-2 St. John Fisher; St. Laurence 1-3 Princethorpe.
Wed 7th Dec Indoor Athletics Competition Our children were outstanding and qualified for the Birmingham School Games by winning this competition.
Tues 10th Jan Table Tennis Friendly Matches A great evening of table tennis - high standard and a super atmosphere.
Fri 13th Jan Girls 4-a-side Indoor Football Heat Two good wins to qualify for the Finals: St. Laurence 3-0 St. Mary's; St. Laurence 2-0 The Meadows
Sat 14th Jan Table Tennis Zone Finals (boys & girls) Our girls played very well with one win and two defeats to finish 3rd. Our boys won three and lost one to finish 2nd and qualify for the Regional Finals! Very well done to everyone.
Mon 16th Jan Basketball Heat St. Laurence 2-12 Princethorpe; St. Laurence 16-2 Raddlebarn. Mixed fortunes, but enough to qualify for the finals.
Tues 17th Jan Yr3/4 Swimming Gala A thoroughly enjoyable and successful event. Our children did us proud with their togetherness and performances. We managed to win the competition and had a brilliant time.
Thurs 19th Jan Girls' Table Tennis Competition A great competition. Our girls won all four of their matches to take first place. Well done girls.
Sat 21st Jan Orion Swimming Gala Our children put in a fantastic all round display to finish 2nd overall. We were delighted and there was a great atmosphere throughout.
Wed 25th Jan Yr3/4 Mixed Indoor 5-a-side Football Competition An excellent performance from our young team with 3 wins and 3 draws. We came joint top, just missing out on qualification through goal difference.
Sat 28th Jan Visit to Worcester Warriors Rugby Club A fantastic day out! A great game and we got lots of autographs. We all had fun and there were lots of tries scored during our half time tag.
Tues 31st Jan Basketball Finals Very proud of our basketball team as we came Runners-Up overall. St. Laurence 4-2 Princethorpe; St. Laurence 8-12 Wychall; St. Laurence 8-6 West Heath (OT).
Fri 3rd Feb Girls' Football Friendly v The Meadows An exciting an entertaining game. Our young side lost 4-1 against more experienced opposition but played very well.
Tues 7th Feb Table Tennis Competition An excellent display from our boys, winning 19 out of 20 matches on the night to take first place.
Tues 7th Feb Boys 9-a-side HMS Football Round 1 St. Laurence 2-6 Boldmere. A disappointing first half saw the game disappear but a better second half display.
Thurs 9th Feb Boys Church Cup Football v St. Francis A confidence boosting win 9-3, takes us through to the Finals.
Fri 10th Feb Birmingham Primary Winter Games Hockey Our hockey team played well overall. We won 2 and lost 2, to finish 3rd in our group. We also got to meet Team GB Olympic medallist gymnast Kristian Thomas!
Mon 13th Feb Boys League Football matches St. Laurence 0-1 Bournville; St. Laurence 0-4 West Heath.
Tues 14th Feb Birmingham Primary Winter Athletics A great display from our large squad of 24 children. We came 6th, which was a pleasing result at this very high level.
Thurs 16th Feb Girls Cup Football Qualifying Round We ended up with two teams out playing in a round-robin. A very enjoyable evening, which gave a number of our younger players valuable experience. We are seeded 2nd for the rest of the Cup.
Mon 27th Feb Cross Country A good turn out and lots of determined performances. We had several top 10 finishers and Katie won the yr5 girls race.
Thurs 2nd Mar Girls' Indoor 4-a-side Football Finals A tough evening for our girls. We played well at times but conceded too many goals and missed out on the medals.
Fri 3rd Mar Girls' HMS Football Round 1 St. Laurence 1-1 Highfield (aet) - St. Laurence won 2-0 on penalties. An entertaining, close game so well done to our girls to get through.
Sat 4th Mar Team Table Tennis Regional Finals Congratulations to Nat, Elliot, Cyrus and Daniel. We finished within the top 8 in the country! 2 wins and a draw on the day. Massive thanks to Mrs Reynolds for the coaching and the families who travelled to Bournemouth.
Thurs 9th Mar Boys Yr4/5 Football Qualifying Heat St. Laurence 0-0 Paganel; St. Laurence 1-0 Northfield Manor; St. Laurence 2-0 Princethorpe. Our boys safely qualify for the Finals.
Fri 10th Mar Final Boys League Football games St. Laurence 0-2 Kings Norton; St. Laurence 1-1 St. John Fisher; St. Laurence 3-1 The Meadows. A pleasing evening as our boys played really well.
Mon 13th Mar Girls' District Football Cup Quarter-Final St. Laurence 2-1 Raddlebarn. A pleasing win and solid performance sees us through to the semi-finals.
Thurs 16th Mar Girls Yr4/5 Football Qualifying Heat St. Laurence 1-1 Kings Norton; St. Laurence 1-0 The Meadows. Good performances to see us through to the finals.
Fri 17th Mar KN/South Birmingham Basketball Play-Off Finals

St. Laurence 18-22 Hollywood; St. Laurence 26-10 Chad Vale.

We were pleased to finish runners-up and played some great basketball throughout.

Mon 20th Mar Cross Country A super evening and St. Laurence were well represented. All of our children ran well on a long, difficult course. Our medalists were Mia in 3rd and Katie, Jack, Riley and Arriella all won their races.
Tues 21st Mar Girls HMS Birmingham Football Cup Quarter Final St. Laurence 3-0 Northfield Manor. A fantastic performance which puts us through to the all-Birmingham semi-finals.
Tues 21st Mar Boys Yr4/5 Football Finals Our boys played brilliantly, winning the whole competition. We won our group before beating St. Edwards in the semi-final and then Paganel in the final. Well done boys!
Thurs 23rd Mar Girls Yr4/5 Football Finals A super evening for our girls ending as district Runners-Up. Well done to the girls. St. Laurence 1-0 The Meadows; St. Laurence 4-0 Raddlebarn; St. Laurence 0-4 West Heath.
Fri 24th Mar Girls' Church Cup Football A 5-0 defeat against incredibly strong opposition. Our girls battled well and will be better for this experience.
Sat 25th Mar Swimming Gala A super event enjoyed by our squad of over 20 children. We became the first ever winners of the Kings Norton District Gala!
Tues 28th Mar Remaining Tag Rugby League Games Our children all played well. We had an inexperienced squad but we achieved some positive results as our A team finished joint 3rd in the Cup and our B team were 3rd in the Bowl.
Thurs 30th Mar County Futsal Finals - U8 and U10 girls and U8 and U10 boys Congratulations to all our teams on qualifying for the County Futsal (indoor football) Finals. All teams did us proud and gave their all at a tough level. Our top performers were the U10 girls who are County Runners-Up. Well done all.
Thurs 30th Mar High5 Netball League Game  Colmers Farm 5-5 St. Laurence. An excellent start to our summer league.
Mon 3rd Apr Boys Yr4/5 Football - Birmingham Semi-Finals St. Laurence 3-0 Woodhouse; St. Laurence 5-0 Chilcote. Our boys did brilliantly to qualify for the All Birmingham Final after Easter.
Mon 3rd Apr High5 Netball League Game St. Laurence 2-9 Kings Norton. A tough evening but our girls hung in there.
Tues 4th Apr Sports Festival Our children had a fantastic time trying out boccia, goalball and curling.
Wed 5th Apr Y3/4 Hockey Festival Difficult playing conditions on small pitches but our children played well ending up with 1 win, 2 draws and 1 loss.
Thurs 6th Apr Hockey Competition Both our A and B teams performed really well. Our B team qualified from their group and finished 4th overall. Our A team came 2nd, narrowly missing out on first. Well done to everyone.
Fri 7th Apr Girls Cup Semi-Finals and Final

St. Laurence 1-1 Kings Norton (aet) St. Laurence won 4-2 on pens. Final: St. Laurence 0-1 The Meadows.   Our girls were fantastic and played some great football. So unlucky not to win the final

Tues 25th Apr Girls Only Tag Rugby Festival We took 24 girls to this festival and they had a great time, playing some good rugby. Our B and C teams showed lots of improvement and gained positive results whilst our A team won the whole event!
Thurs 25th Apr All Birmingham HMS Football Cup Semi-Final A tough loss for our girls against a strong St. Bernard's team.
Fri 28th Apr Super 6 Golf Festival Our 6 children enjoyed the experience on a real golf course but unfortunately didn't progress to the Finals evening.
Fri 5th May Boys' All Birmingham Football Final St. Laurence 1-2 St. Peter and St. Paul's. A fantastic game of high quality. We took the lead but just lost out in the end. Very proud of the boys though who gave everything.
Mon 8th May Hockey Festival Our two teams had a great time and played some excellent hockey. Our B team came 5th overall and our A team were extremely unlucky to lose the final, having created most of the chances.
Tues 9th May Yr3/4 Tag Rugby Festival We took 18 children making up 2 teams in this festival and we all had a great time. Both teams scored some excellent tries and it was a perfect introduction to rugby on a glorious evening.
Wed 10th May Tri-Golf Skills Festival A fantastic evening saw both our yr3/4 and our yr5/6 teams win their events and qualify for the School Games. All children worked well as a team and had a great time.
Thurs 11th May Mini Tennis Festival We took a large group over to West Heath to gain more experience of competitive tennis. All of our children played well and enjoyed the evening although we didn't win overall.
Fri 12th May Yr3/4 Football Festival A large number of children represented us, split into 3 equally balanced teams. It was a mixed evening in terms of performances but we have a number of boys pushing for future selection.
Mon 15th May Girls' League Football A great start to the league! St. Laurence 1-0 Raddlebarn; St. Laurence 2-1 Tiverton; St. Laurence 2-0 The Meadows
Thurs 18th May Mini Tennis Festival Our children played really well and had a great time. All matches were close but we narrowly missed out on the victory overall. The children were a real credit though with their sporting behaviour.
Fri 19th May Aston Villa Experience Day The children had a great day which included a tour and plenty of football, and all behaved very well.
Mon 22nd May Annual Athletics Competition A brilliant day of athletics in glorious weather. Our children were fantastic throughout, giving it everything and always encouraging others. We were second most of the day, but a great set of relay results saw us win the team competition! Congratulations all.
Thurs 25th May Girls' Football League v Colmers Farm Colmers Farm 1-1 St. Laurence. A bit disappointing after dominating most of the game, but we remain unbeaten.
Fri 26th May Girls' Football League v West Heath St. Laurence 2-1 West Heath. A fantastic result and performance, coming back from 1-0 down.
Fri 9th Jun All day Cricket Competition A tough day for our two teams. Most games were close and we got better as the day went on but didn't get a win today.
Fri 9th Jun Girls' Football League St. Laurence 0-1 Kings Norton; St. Laurence 3-0 St. Mary's. We end the league with 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. Well done girls.
Mon 12th Jun Boys' Church Cup Finals We had a good day, finishing 3rd out of the 6 schools there.
Mon 12th Jun Rounders Qualifying Heat Two wins from two puts us in a good position going into the finals evening next week.
Tues 13th Jun Super 4s Athletics School Games Qualifier Our children put in an excellent display to finish top of the team competition and qualify for the School Games!
Thurs 15th Jun Year 5 Cricket Festival Three excellent wins over The Meadows and West Heath A and B mean that we qualify for the School Games. Our 4th different team to do this. The boys were great this evening - well done all.
Tues 20th Jun High 5 Netball Matches Two narrow losses against Raddlebarn and Bournville but good performances from the girls.
Tues 20th Jun Rounders Finals Three defeats in a disappointing evening. The first two games were very close but we couldn't quite get the results. Some good individual displays though and played in the right spirit.
Wed 21st Jun Birmingham Tag Rugby Festival An incredible day out for our 24 children, making up our A and B teams. Our B team came 9th out of 20 teams, whilst our A team finished 13th. Lots of fun had by all.
Thurs 22nd Jun Cricket League Games St. Laurence A lost to The Meadows; St. Laurence B lost to West Heath; St. Laurence A beat Bournville; St. Laurence B lost to Colmers Farm.
Mon 26th Jun Boys and Girls Football Friendlies A comfortable win for the boys and a narrow defeat for the girls. An enjoyable evening then saw some staff, coaches and parents have their own game too!
Wed 28th Jun Girls' Church Cup Football Finals Our last competitive games of the season. Both our A and B teams performed well in this 5 team league competition. Our A team finished runners-up, which was pleasing. Well done to all girls, with a special mention to player of the tournament, Kemi.
Thurs 6th Jul Cricket League Finals Our A team were involved in a great game against West Heath. After the scores were tied, we won the game having lost fewer wickets. Our B team won 1 and lost 1, standing 5th in league 2.
Fri 7th Jul Yr2/3 Sports Festival This was a great afternoon, brilliantly organised by our year 5 children. The year 2 and 3 children worked together well and all enjoyed it.
Mon 10th July Dance / Gym Showcase A lovely evening, showcasing the talent of those children who have regularly attended dance and gym clubs.
Mon 10th Jul Basketball Festival Two good wins for both our yr5/6 and our yr3/4 teams. All children enjoyed it and played very well.
Thurs 13th Jul Final Cricket League Games Our A team won their final game against St. Mary's convincingly to finish with 4 wins and 1 loss, level with two other schools but unfortunately missed out on the final on run rate. Our B team did really well to finish 3rd in their league.
Fri 14th Jul Birmingham Primary Summer Games A fantastic day out for 46 of our children competing in 5 different events. Our cricket team won 3 and lost 2, officially coming 7th. Our netballers did brilliantly to reach the semi-finals and narrowly missed out on a medal, coming 4th. Both our y3/4 and 5/6 tri-golf teams picked up medals, finishing 3rd and 2nd respectively and our athletes were amazing, ending up 2nd too. Well done to everyone!
Mon 17th Jul Sports Awards Evening  
Tues 18th July Girls Football Friendly Our final fixture of the year and my last one at St. Laurence ended in a pleasing 3-1 win against Kings Norton. It was a chance for our year 6s to have one last game and some of our younger players stepped up, showing what they can do ahead of next year.
